We take your employment seriously! NC Dental U has been helping graduates start their dental careers for over 18 years! We are proud to be affiliated with various large group practices throughout North Carolina! We take your confidence in us very seriously and go the extra mile to help you launch your new dental career!

The Dental Assistant I Program encompasses thorough Employment Strategies instruction, including resume writing, interviewing skills, and proper credential representation. We also provide UNLIMITED career counseling for ALL NC Dental U alumni!

It is imperative to understand that graduates from the Dental Assistant Program at NC Dental U graduate with EVERY credential available to Dental Assistant I’s in the state of NC. No additional testing is required to start working! In addition, the state of NC allows the hours you work as a Dental Assistant I to count toward your higher-level credential of Dental Assistant II. By simply working as a DAI for 3000 hours (approximately 2 years), you will automatically achieve your DAII credential with NO additional testing, education, or training!

Dental professionals have many options regarding employment! You can work full-time, part-time, or whenever you like by serving as a traveling or temp Assistant.

NC Dental U prepares graduates to work in a variety of dental-related settings. Below are just a few of the exciting options:

Chairside Dental Assistant: This person assists the dentist when providing all types of patient care in a clinical setting. They can work in general dentistry or any of the dental specialists (orthodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, endodontics). They can assist the dentist and/or the hygienist.

Administrative Dental Representative: This type of representative typically works in the dental practice’s business office. They can help manage patient records, billing, dental insurance claims, and other related tasks. They can work in any general or specialty dental practice setting.

Dental Practice Manager: This position typically oversees the operations and employees of the dental practice. Depending on your work history or education, completing the Dental Assistant Program with NC Dental U can help prepare you for a leadership role in dentistry.

Dental Hygiene/Dentist Student: The Dental Assistant Program with NCDU can provide career opportunities while pursuing additional training/education in the dental field!
