What is a Dental Assistant?

Enjoy the rewards of working with a dentist to create bright and healthy smiles! The essential skills you learn in this program enable you to gain the edge you need to be a Dental Assistant (DAI) or Administrative Dental Assistant.
Dental assistants are the foundation to any successful dental practice. They provide necessary support to the Dentist in the clinical setting during most dental procedures.

Dental Assistants perform many tasks, including, but not limited to the following*:

  • Prepare patients for treatments and procedures
  • Sterilize and organize dental instruments
  • Assist the dentist during procedures
  • Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene techniques
  • Take X-rays using
  • Maintain patient records
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Manage patient billing and payment processing
  • And much, much more!

  • Dental Assistants can work in a private dental office, public health clinic, or military clinic. There are also opportunities for Dental Assistants to work in sales, equipment repair or education!

PRICE: $3695.00

Cancellations or transfer requests must be in writing via email to Cancellations or transfers greater than 2 weeks prior to the event will receive 100% refund or credit. Registrants cancelling or transferring between two weeks and two full business days prior to the first day of the event are “refunded at 50% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee.” No refunds, credits or transfers will be given for cancellations received less than two full business days prior to the event.

  • Take X-rays using DIGITAL imaging equipment, including NOMAD technology
  • Maintain patient records including an introduction to Practice Management Software
  • Monitor Nitrous Oxide during patient care
  • Take Dental Impressions and Model Trimming
  • Understand sterilization procedures
  • Develop communication skills for use with patients and coworkers
  • Understand dental insurance
  • Understand equipment maintenance
  • Use the computer to promote efficiency
  • Develop employability skills and strategies
