New To North Carolina?
NC Radiography Requirement for those who move to North Carolina.
For those who move to North Carolina from out-of-state, you may register for our full radiology course, or you may be able to simply take a Challenge Exam. To qualify for the Challenge Exam, you must be able to provide transcripts that you have the minimal amount of training required to be eligible. The minimum training requirement in North Carolina is 7 hours of didactic instruction AND 14 hours of clinical instruction.
NOTE: A certified dental assistant (one who successfully completes the DANB exam) or an assistant who completes an ADA-accredited dental assisting or dental hygiene program may take radiographs without further examination.
