What are grants?

Think “free financial aid”. A grant for student education is a sum of money awarded to a student to help pay for their education that does not need to be repaid. Grants are usually given based on financial need, specific circumstances, or eligibility criteria set by the government, schools, or private organizations.

 

Who provides grants for my attendance at NC Dental U?

NC Works/WIOA: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federally funded program designed to help individuals gain the skills they need to enter high-demand careers. If you qualify, WIOA may sponsor your tuition in full!

Turning Point Workforce Development Board:
Turning Point WDB is a regional Workforce Development Board serving counties such as Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton, and Wilson. These grants support training for employees, including incumbent worker training, on-the-job learning, and short-term credentialing.
